I am very creative, I am an avid reader and cooker and I just wanted to create a small space for myself to share the things I enjoy. Wheather is the race I just ran, the cool cake I just cooked, or the next awesome craft project I am working on, or the scheme I cooked up to be "truly fit" lol! I wanted a space to share these things with the rest of the world, so here it is! :)Don’t knowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02830669296605985336noreply@blogger.comBlogger9125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5542208206271867255.post-87981856106432378562011-03-08T18:44:00.000-08:002011-03-08T18:44:38.508-08:00Purex!So I have had the amazing opportunity of being a purex insider. What this means is when they have new products to try out they send them out to insiders and we get to try them and blog about them! Well, I got this as a huge surprise in the mail the other day:

Well, they were right, my world of fabric softners did change!!! I love, love, love these Crystals!!! Not only do they smell awesome and look so cute on the shelf in my laundry room but you put them in wash at the start of the laundry!!! No more setting timers, running from the back of the house to the front, etc! Plus, what is really cool about this stuff is it is not oil based! What that means is you can safely use it on children's clothing and it will not reduce the flame retardency of the garment. Also, it means you can use it on your specialty work out clothes as the wicking in many of the newer garments is made less effective by other oil based softners, but Purex Crystals is safe for those garments!

Total Before Savings: 96.53

Card Savings: 23.36

Coupon Savings: 21.51

Total Savings: 46.92

Total Paid Out: 51.66

Save 48%

I would have save over 50% however, I had a weak moment and bought my daughter soem iced coffees that were not on sale :-/ Should have left her at home like she wanted! :P But, I got only all name brand items and had a coupon for almost everything! I was really proud of myself! :)

Also, my daughter and I did back to school shopping on Thursday. We went to Aeropostale and she got three shirts that she has been wanting so badly, but I was holding off so they wouldn't get worn before school...well, it paid off. I spent 22.92 and saved 45.33. One shirt was on sale for 50% off the other two were two for $18 and I had a 30% friends and family coupon from my email! Next, we went to TJ Maxx where I got a $50 dress for her for $20, and Ross where all the shirts she wanted (3) retailed for $24 or more a piece fro $21.59. All are in fashion as we went to Dillard's right after and literally saw the exact same shirts selling for full price!

Well, I think that wraps up this week's savings!
Don’t knowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02830669296605985336noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5542208206271867255.post-43675071997510698402010-06-08T03:28:00.000-07:002010-06-08T03:28:23.509-07:00Be carful when working out!Ok, so I have been using p90x for seven weeks now. I have absolutely loved it! I have seen extreme improvements in my physical fitness as well as my muscle tone. I couldn't be happier. However, last night around 10:30 pm tragedy struck. Let me give some background. Many of the workouts call for a person to do pull ups or chin ups in this particular dvd with which I was exercising. However, if you do not have a pull up bar you can mimick the exercises with an over the door resistance band. The first week I used a band that was too light that had no weight and I just placed in the door jamb at the top, after that I get the genius idea I am going to get a heavy one from Dick's. So, into Dick's I go to get the toughest resistance band I can find and seriously tone my arms and back. Well, the band came with a little circle that you put the band through and at the top of the circle is a weight you put over the door and close the door over it so the weight acts as an anchor. I thought this would be pure genius because now I could close myself off & the rest of the family could be spared Tony Horton droning that only I seem to find entertaining. Well, last night as I was on the 3rd "pull up" is when it happened. I pulled, the door opened, and said anchor weight hit me full speed ahead right in the middle of the forehead. I now have a small raspberry along with a nice size lump in the center of my forehead that is very akin to what a cyclops might have minus the actual eyeball. So, I will be back to putting my band between the door & the frame as I was in the beginning and the fam can either beat me or join me.Don’t knowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02830669296605985336noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5542208206271867255.post-85555485993686665892010-05-24T10:07:00.000-07:002010-05-24T10:07:58.190-07:00Covergirl Simply Ageless Bzz CampaignI mostly enjoyed the products I received: corrector, concealer, foundation, blush. The corrector seemed to have to be put on so heavy that it actually drew more attention to the bags under my eyes. It did the same for my mother & daughter. However, the concealer was amazing! We all loved that & don't leave the house without it in the morning! The blush was nice, but I love creame blushes. However, if you don't know how ot use creame blushes it could have been quite frustrating. In fact, another friend of mine in this same buzz campaign complained of it being difficult to use. I used one of the coupons to buy a foundation in my color as the foundation I got was too dark. It was a nice foundation though, competed well with my current foundation. I can't promise to make the switch but did recommend it to several co-workers looking for a good quality afforable foundation.Don’t knowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02830669296605985336noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5542208206271867255.post-91378531963333170922010-03-27T20:05:00.000-07:002010-03-27T20:06:29.052-07:00Day 4Alright, so I forgot to post on Friday. But, it was a good day...although I wound up with a headache by the end of the day...students are sooooooooo ready for spring break right now its not even funny. I am so glad we only have three more days this week with students, then one day without the students then I can leave that afternoon to go see my man! woohoo! motivation for working seems to have left me...but, it must come back...and it will tomorrow...I have to do LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of work tomorrow...oh well the time will pass quickly anyway.

Friday I had a great day...I had an egg on toast for breakfast, lunch was some chicken stirfry, and dinner was a nice tuna salad (just lettuce, tomatoes, onion, loose tuna and small bits of fresh apple). it was great I even got to go for a nice run.

Today, I went for a 6 mile run with a good friend of mine over the bridges downtown in our great city! It was a wonderful run. I had two pieces of toast and coffee before the run, after the run i had a weak moment while getting the brakes fixed on my car and I took my daughter to Krystals and we each got a 3 Krystal chick meal...they were soooooooooooooooo good with their delicious french fries! It had been so long since I'd had those lol but we each were able to eat two and some french fries (we agreed next time we split the fries and drink since neither of us could finish lol). Then when I got home I had a Tablespoon of Nutella (heavenly), then later after my nap we heated up the rest of our chicks and had those with some grapes. When we got to her play I had a sierra mist and popcorn, then when I got home my mom was baking a pizza. I think it's called brick oven pizza and it was spinach, mushroom, and onion...OMG it was sooooooooooo delicious! I couldn't even belive how good it was...I had a piece of that hehe hopefully there'll be some left for lunch tomorrow! :D

Anyway, my daughter is in a play, Annie. It is so cute, I can't wait to see it...for time number three...tomorrow afternoon. She *made* me go tonight so I could compare red cast to blue cast and of course I thought her cast was better (really, they were the blue cast was just above awful :-/)Don’t knowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02830669296605985336noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5542208206271867255.post-90963618858496684592010-03-25T19:40:00.000-07:002010-03-25T19:40:47.287-07:00Day 2<span style="color: purple; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Today was much easier than yesterday. I felt a lot better than I have in a while. I made sure I wore some awesome shoes today to make me feel good! ;)

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I had one cup of coffee before I left home, then I got a coffee from dunkin donuts on my way to work (<3 their coffee!).

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Breakfast: another fried egg sandwich with a half a slice of havarti and on a piece of whole wheat bread.
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Lunch: advocado sandwich with onions and swiss on a sandwich thin, two things of dannon yogurt, an apple, and a clementine. I also had one fun size hershey's special dark bar.
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Dinner: veggie delight 6" sub from subway with water and 4 doritos (I only remember that because I was sharing them with my daughter and she said I could only have 4 the rest were hers lol)
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Dessert: I had to meet my cousin to discuss her wedding plans and we met at dunkin donuts, I got a coffee with splenda and cream and I had 5 munchkins...they were so delicious!

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I unfortunately ran out of time to exercise today. I was going to rush home to run and go meet my cousin all stinky like, but then I'd have wound up having the munchkins for dinner and I figured that probably wasn't a great idea.

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">On a side note though, I am a teacher and last week we wrapped up a unit on cyber bullying in my intensive reading class. Well, I instructed to students to put together a power point comparing and contrasting cyberbullying, the results were AMAZING! They put so much effort into them, the actual slideshows were so impressive; but, I printed off their final products and only two need revisions. :)

All in all, it was a fantastic day and I can't wait to get to tomorrow, because as of tomorrow it will be exactly one week until I get to see my hubby! (Today I am a week away from beginning my drive! YIPEE!)Don’t knowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02830669296605985336noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5542208206271867255.post-46153545164848445612010-03-24T18:20:00.000-07:002010-03-24T18:20:05.397-07:00Day 1So, yesterday, after having a great eating day a friend of mine gives me a jar of Nutella. She saw it on sale and knows how much I love Nutella so she picked it up. I came home and after cooking a very healthy dinner of chicken stirfry I proceeded to eat pretty much the entire jar of nutella on my own (my daughter had 3 tablespoons). So, I felt this was my rock bottom as far as sweets go. I now know I have a problem. So, I have decided I am going to go on a journey to become healthier. Today was day one.
Breafast: fried egg sandwich with half a piece of havarti melted on it served on a half a piece of a sandwich thin with strawberries
Lunch: I had a can of progresso chicken soup with extra fiber and some oyster crackers
Snack: Airhead and strawberries
Dinner: I was invited to the above friends house for dinner and we had salad, manwich on potatoe rolls and applesauce. There were VERY tempting mini banana splits that I did NOT eat.

I also took an extra few minutes for myself and went running, I did three miles. It was good and when I was done I wish I had done four. So, my goal tomorrow will be four miles.

My goal here isn't necessarily to lose weight but to be healthier and set goals for myself so I will never be just stagnant. Stagnant is boring and who wants to stay the same?! So, here's to change!

*cheers*Don’t knowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02830669296605985336noreply@blogger.com0
